Frances Arline Hofmann's Obituary
Frances Arline Hofmann, 96, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on March 22, 2022. Arlene, as she was known by her family and friends, was born in Columbus City, Iowa to Wayne E. Whetstine and Lola F. Whetstine. She is predeceased by her husband, Arthur, two sons, Michael (infant) and William (57). She is survived by her children Linda (Jose) Barbosa, Steven (Kelly) Hofmann, and Lisa (Jeffrey) Munsey, her daughter-in-law MaryAnn Hofmann, her ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Arlene was a devoted wife, mother and friend. Those who knew her well, knew that she always made time for them. Throughout their 74 year marriage, Arlene supported her husband in all of his endeavors, making several moves with the family before finally settling in Florida. When Art retired, they hitched up their trailer and traveled all over the U.S. In addition to camping, Arlene enjoyed boating and fishing with her husband. She and Art were active members of the St. Marks Outreach Committee in Cooper City, Florida before relocating to Leesburg in 2007.
Arlene will be remembered for her quiet patience, her sense of humor, and her love for her family. Nothing made her happier than having everyone together for holidays, and her Christmas Eve dinner was a cherished family tradition. May she rest in peace, reunited at last with her beloved husband, Art.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
