Florence "Dot" Dorothy Riley-Smith's Obituary
Florence “Dot” Dorothy Riley Smith, age 91, passed away March 11, 2018 at her home. Florence was born August 31, 1926 to Ernest and Elvira (Horgan) Sampson in Manhattan, New York. She married James Riley, on April 8, 1943 he preceded her in death December 13, 1988. She then married Eugene Smith April 11, 2000 and he also preceded her in death March 9, 2013
Florence worked at Motorola for fourteen years as a supervisor, then she worked at Wendy,s until the age of 70 when she decided to enjoy full retirement.
Florence loved to work crossword puzzles and was quite the character and loved life to the fullest.
Florence is survived by her devoted family, son Ken and Fran Riley of Long Island, N.Y., son Robert and Jane Riley of Fruitland Park, daughter, Susan Kavolius of Wildwood, daughter Diane Dwyer of Fruitland Park, daughter Linda Zuckerman of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Yvonne Owens of Weirsdale, brothers Joseph Sampson of West Palm and George Sampson of Sarasota. Grandson whom she raised Thomas Riley, plus 17 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Thursday March 15, 2018 in the Chapel of Page-Theus Funeral Home in Leesburg. Visitation will be form 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with Funeral Service at 1:00 PM burial immediately following in Tavares City Cemetery.
