Felix Cruz-Diaz's Obituary
Today we honor, celebrate, and remember Felix Cruz Diaz (Tio Pello) who was born on 2nd of December 1930 in the town of Thomas De Castro in Cagaus, Puerto Rico.
He served our country honorably during the Korean War era.
He was a man of grace and courage. A great teacher, role model and a dependable friend.
His advice and guidance will continue to carry us through the joys and challenges that life has to offer.
If there were ever an extension of God's love and kindness it was through him.
He left a mark in everyone's heart who came across his path in life and by doing so he made you a better person.
One of my favorite memories of him and with the family was during a visit to his sister Marcolina’s apartment for her birthday celebration where he got the guitar and started to play and sing. That was a very special day as it included some of his sisters who also joined in, and all sang together. It was a lovely and wonderful moment. The love of the family captured in time.
A true love story was his is prominent dedication, care, and love for his wife Mercedes who he treated like a queen.
He led a prominent career as a successful real estate agent and developer. One of his memorable accomplishments that would live with us forever was his vision and subsequent development of Rancho Las Vegas in Puerto Rico where many special events and family gatherings were held.
He led a prominent career as a successful real agent and developer which led him to be recognized and awarded as “Realtor of the Year” on April 23, 1994 by the Board of Realtors in
Caguas, Puerto Rico.
In the early 2000, he retired and moved to Florida to start a new journey where he made new friends and shared his love of life and music.
Felix Cruz Diaz is survived by his wife, Maria M. Pagan, nieces, and nephews. The Cruz-Diaz and Pagan Weston family want to extend their gratitude for the kindness that has been extended to Uncle Felix and our family. You were there every single time we needed t
he support and love from you. I want you to know I value your love and friendship. Uncle Felix’s journey was a long one and he was able to share it with the love of his life, his “Mercie”, as he called her. She was beside him day and night. Along with all the wonderful friends and family who visited him sharing laughs and sang songs together while reminiscing of days gone by.
I will always be thankful to the entire staff at Life Care Center of Ocala, especially, the nursing staff who he greeted with a song or a flirtatious smile. They took such great care of my uncle Felix! Our Lord had mercy on him and took him by the hand and carried him home to the Kingdom of Heaven on July 22, 2023 at 11:10 a.m. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. We can rejoice and take comfort in the words of Apostle Paul, “well done, good and faithful servant, come enter the eternal home our Lord has prepared for you.” May he rest in peace.
In Closing;
A person who departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts. Through us, they live on. May God give him eternal rest.
