Evelyn Marie Wright's Obituary
Evelyn Marie Wright, 95, of Clermont, FL, passed away on October 17, 2024. Marie was born on May 8, 1929 in Tuscumbia, AL to her loving parents George Washington and Birdie Mae (Greer) Jones.
Marie worked as an Licensed Nurse Practitioner in Barberton, OH and eventually a medical receptionist for a surgical office for 20 years before her retirement. She became a resident of Florida in 1985 and began working again as a security officer for The Holiday Travel Resort in Leesburg, FL for over 20 years until her retirement.
Marie was a devout member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg and enjoyed her time as a volunteer for the foodbank at the Christian Care Center.
Marie was a dedicated and selfless woman. Her family was her world and she was known to always help others. Aside from volunteering, her passions were reading and coloring books, as well as gardening flowers and vegetables. Her bubbly and positive personality will be missed dearly and remembered fondly.
Marie is survived by her children: Carol (Bob) Kirkpatrick, Dennis (Peggy) Wright and Dale (Sandy) Wright, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
Marie is preceded in passing by her husband of 64 years, Jack E. Wright, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brothers; Dewey, Roy, Gene and Roger Jones, as well as her parents.
