Eudore George Gagne Jr.'s Obituary
Eudore George Gagne, Jr. better known as Yogie, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the age of 81. A memorial service will be held on November 18, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL
Mr. Gagne proudly served in the United States Army for 23 years. Culminating at the rank of Command Sergeant Major. CMS Gagne entered active duty service in 1954 to 1977. CSM Gagne is a veteran of the Vietnam War where he earned many medals, including the Bronze Star, The Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnamese Jump Wings.
Throughout his career he was also awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (with one oak leaf cluster), the Army commendation Medal (with two oak leaf clusters), the Army Good Conduct medal (7th Award), the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, the Meritorious Unit Citation, and the Parachutist Badge.
CSM Gagne proudly served in: Thailand, Korea, Lebanon, Germany, Vietnam, and Fort Bragg, most prominently with the 10th Special Forces, the 101st Airborne Division, the 82nd Airborne Division and the Army Security Agency.
He worked at: Swift & Co., Cape Cod Staging, Atlas Tack, Chamberlain Manufacturing and Retired from Upper Deck.
Eudore was a member of the Masons and the Shriners.
Eudore loved his family and close friends, cooking, playing golf, animals, 50s, 60s and Doo Wop music. He was a lifelong Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
Eudore was born on January 5, 1935 in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Eudore G. Gagne, Sr. and the late Edith Elva (Jansen) Gagne. Along with his late wife Mary Noel (Dahlberg) Gagne and his late sister Joan Marie Gagne.
He is survived by his wife Janice A. Picard-Gagne. Two children : Tina Chicoine (Patrick), Gary D. Gagne, Sr. Seven grandchildren: Hector Ramirez ( Melissa); Corey R. Ramirez, Sr. (Jan); Kristina Frauenhein (Greg); Gary (DJ) D. Gagne Jr.; Brooke Araujo; Alexandra Harding (Andrew); Anthony Ramirez: Nine great grandchildren: Corey (CJ) and his wife Jillian; Rilan; Carson; Ayden; Corbin; Mason; Colton; Camden; and Blake.
He was so ecstatic and proud to hear for the first time he was to become a Great Great Grandfather.
He also has three sisters: Katherine Anne Gagne; Cindy Gagne; and Sandy Gagne: and a brother, Ralph Gagne.
