Without a doubt, the kindest soul I ever encountered in this lifetime. Erich loved his little girl, Heather so much! His concern for her was never ending and he would sometimes call me and share it with me. He always made time to help others even when it was not in his best interest. A gifted artist, I would marvel at his sculptures and silently wish that he would turn his talents to profit, but that was not his concern. The act of creation was what mattered to him; not making money from his art. I remember once we were on our way to a birthday party and the guest of honor had a passion for Albert Einstein. Erich showed up at my house an hour early with a bag of wet, unfired clay and proceeded to sculpt a fabulous head of Einstein as his gift. I was astounded at the ease with which he made it and I still am. Among his many personas, Erich was a Patriot and took pride in his service in the Air Force. It made me sad to see the endless fight he had to put up to gain his rightful veteran's benefits. I was one of his California friends for many years and while it made me sad to see him leave, I knew it was in his best interest to move to Florida. We never saw each other again after he left but we kept in close contact by phone. I regret that I never saw him again but I know we will meet again in the next life. Erich was truly unique in so many ways and i will always love him.
