Elizabeth "Jane" Yorgensen's Obituary
Elizabeth “Jane” Maurer - Yorgensen, 84, Leesburg, Florida, Passed away on April 21, 2015 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Yorgensen was born on December 13, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio to her parents Victor and Delphine Pike. Mrs. Yorgensen had been a Coordinator for the Arch Diocese of Cincinnati. She and her late husband Roland moved to central Florida 20 years ago from Cincinnati. She was a parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church in Leesburg, FL. She was very active in her community with the chorus, clogging, and quilting and as a librarian. She made many friends, “She never met a stranger”. She is survived by her loving husband of 15 years: Harry P. Yorgensen of Leesburg, FL; seven sons: Christopher Maurer of Cincinnati, OH, Timothy Maurer (Leah) of Cincinnati, OH, Jay Maurer (Teina) of Guilford, IN, Kevin Yorgensen (Siobhan) of Ft. Myers, FL, Robert Yorgensen (Linda) of West Hartford, CT, Mark Yorgensen and fiancé Erica Long of Colchester, CT, and Michael Yorgensen of Tolland, CT; three daughters: Karen Brock (Silas) of Opp, AL, Leslie Oswald (David) of Booneville, MO and Kathleen Harrington, Manchester, CT; three brothers: Victor Pike and Gerald Pike both of Cincinnati, OH and James Pike of Florida; two sisters: Miriam Foppe of Cincinnati, OH and Lois Walsh of Leesburg, FL; nineteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Roland L. Maurer. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Bushnell, Florida with a visitation to take place from 10:00AM to the hour of service at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. A burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to C.R.S. (Catholic Relief Services).
