Edward Walter Szelengiewicz's Obituary
Edward Walter Szelengiewicz, 92, went to his heavenly home on August 30, 2025 where he is with Jesus and his daughter Denise.
He is survived by his wife Lucy. They were married for 59 years. Also sons David (Carrie) and Daryl (Anna). He had grandsons Tyler and Austin (Amanda). He also had great-grandchildren Luke, Ethan, Lia, Abigail, and Avery Mae.
Ed was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey with his brother John and sister Albina who both have passed. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army as a medic from 1951 until 1953. He was very proud to have served his country. After his military discharge he worked in the warehousing industry until his retirement in 2000.
Ed was a good, kind, and happy man which was a reflection of his deep relationship with his Lord Jesus. The majority of his friends he met through the years at various churches that his family attended regularly. He took great joy in spending time with his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10AM on Saturday September 13, 2025. The location of the service is St. Mark Lutheran Church 28215 US Highway 27 in Leesburg, Florida. Following the service everyone is invited to a luncheon at the Venetian Center 1 Dozier Court (off of Highway 441) in Leesburg, Florida. Here we will continue to celebrate Ed's life.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cornerstone Hospice in his honor.
