Pastor Edward C. Knox's Obituary
Edward C. Knox age 80 passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Leesburg Regional Hospital, Leesburg, Florida. Mr. Knox was born in Haverhill, MA and moved to the Leesburg area in 1998 from Hazelton, PA. He was a member of the Oxford Assembly of God church in Oxford, Florida. Before his retirement he served as a Pastor for the Salvation Army for over 30 years, and then transitioned to the Salvation Army’s Estate Planning branch where he worked for another 10 years. He had a love for music and served many years as a choir director. He also played the trumpet and the flugelhorn. Edward will be remembered for his love of reading and that he was happiest when he was around people, he loved to rub elbows and socialize with friends. He was also an avid Red Sox fan, and during his younger years his pitching skills triggered offers from major league baseball scouts, but he instead chose to serve God and his fellow man in the Salvation Army.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Mary Ann; and his son and daughter-in-law John Edward and Krissy Knox, of State College, PA. The family is planning a memorial service in Pennsylvania at a later time.
All arrangements are under the careful direction of Page-Theus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Leesburg, Florida.
