Duane Everett East's Obituary
Duane Everett East, 86, Leesburg, Florida passed away on July 15, 2020 at Cornerstone Hospice House in Tavares, Florida. Duane was born on September 3, 1933 in Boswell, Indiana to his parents Cecil E. East and Daisy (Coleman) East. He was a Retired Long Haul Truck Driver who had worked for Mercury Freight Lines out of Birmingham for 23 years and then worked for A.B.F. out of Atlanta for the next 7 years. He and his loving wife Elsie moved to Leesburg in 2001 from Ashville, Alabama. He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was of the Methodist Faith. Duane was loved by all who knew him and was fun to be around. He was a member of the Teamsters and was an avid Case knife collector, He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Elsie East of Leesburg, FL; two sons: Derle Money of Furfeld, Germany and Keith Money of Jacksonville, FL; three daughters: Tracey Lacey of Locust Fork, AL, Kim Bowers of Ashville, AL and Kay Tinker of Ashville, AL; ten grandchildren: nine great-grandchildren; one gret great-grandchild and many loving nieces and nephews. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Wayne East and a daughter Lori East. A Celebration of Duane’s Life will be held at a later date in Alabama.
