Dorothy Mae Morrison's Obituary
Dorothy Mae Morrison age 99 passed away Sunday, September 5, 2010 in Maitland, Florida. She was born in Leesburg, Florida to Horace T. Morrison and Annie T. Willams - Morrison one of the earliest families to settle in Leesburg. Her Father and Grandfather were founding members of Morrison United Methodist Church in the downtown area of Leesburg. She spoke often on her childhood in Leesburg and joked that she swam in Little Lake Harris when if was full of snakes and alligators. She graduated from Leesburg High School and in the 1940's moved to Orlando to work as an office manager for the Southern Railroad. It was truly a job she enjoyed and her position touched people all over the world arranging for shipments of citrus products and other goods, and transportation of troops during WW II and passengers traveling to and from Florida. She is survived by 3 nieces: Nancy T. Morrison - Maitland, FL; Pat Winterstein - Tempe, AZ; and Joyce L. Miller - Doraville, GA; 3 Nephews - Robert A. Morrison - Smyrna, GA; Danny Marcott - New Mexico; and Bobby Marcott of Utah.There will be a graveside service 1:30 P. M., Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Lone Oak Cemetery in the Morrison Family Section.Page Theus Funerals and Cremations have been entrusted with all arrangements.
