Doreen Lillian Poland's Obituary
Doreen Lillian Poland (nee Stults) was born in Portland, Maine to John and Lillian Stults on September 8, 1930. She married Philip Poland on December 28, 1948, and they had four children.
In 1981, Doreen moved to Alaska where she resided until 2017, and then moved to Leesburg, Florida with her daughter. While in Alaska, she took care of her many grandchildren who adored her.
Doreen sewed many clothes for her two daughters as they were growing up, she was a member of a bowling league for many years maintaining a high average, and also attended a Wednesday night women's group which started out as a knitting group but turned into a card playing group for many years. In her later years, she was an avid crossword puzzle solver, knitter and crocheter.
She was preceded in death by her husband (Philip Sr.) and her oldest son (Philip Jr.). She is survived by her daughter Laurel Moore of Leesburg, Florida, her daughter Nancy Kruse and son, Clinton Poland of Anchorage, Alaska, 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Doreen was a kind woman who gave generously of her time, love and devotion to her family and friends. During her final six years in Florida, she was lovingly cared for by her daughter Laurel and her husband, Michael. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
