Donna Jeanette (Fish) Heater's Obituary
Donna Jeanette (Fish) Heater, age 90, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, following a brief illness.
Jeanette was born on June 2, 1936, in Quincy, Michigan, to Rex and Doris (Owen) Fish. After an active high school career, she attended business college and began a distinguished career with the Michigan Department of Mental Health. She retired after 37 years of service as Executive Secretary to the Director.
In August 1986, Jeanette married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Heater. Together they shared 37 wonderful years filled with love, travel, cards, and faithful service to their church. In 1993, they fulfilled their dream of becoming Floridians and enjoyed many happy years in Leesburg, Florida. Following Bob’s passing, Jeanette moved to Brazil, Indiana, to be closer to family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; her brother, Roland Fish; her sister, Edith Bedzyk; and her nephew, Russell.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Peggy Mikles and husband David (her favorite) of Brazil, Indiana; grandchildren Taylor Forquer and husband Jordan of Brazil, Indiana, Devon Mikles of Greencastle, Indiana, and Logan Mikles of Knoxville, Tennessee; and great-grandchildren Grayson, Elliot, and Weston Forquer.
Jeanette will be remembered for her devotion to family, steadfast faith, and the joy she found in serving children’s ministry. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Leesburg, Florida.
