Donald Warren Mann Sr's Obituary
Donald Warren Mann, Sr., 83 of Lake County died September 2 at Cornerstone Hospice. Born in Bluevale, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Wellington (Bert) Mann and Vivian Elizabeth Coddington Mann. His family moved to the United States in the 1940s. Donald joined the U.S. Army in 1951 at Fort Wayne and served with the 84th Engineer Construction Battalion during the Korean War. He married Beverly Renee Hodges (deceased) in 1953. The two moved to Florida in 1981 where Donald worked in the construction industry with his brother Milton Mann and sister-in-law Delores of Sarasota, FL; in 1987, he and his wife became the managers of Coachwood Colony in Leesburg where they worked for many years and were much beloved by the residents.Preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Renee Mann and a sister Edith P. Werngren.Survived by two sons, Donald Warren Mann, Jr. of Royal Oak, MI and Richard Michael Mann of Commerce, TX; and one daughter Michelle Colette Bechtel of Houghton Lake, MI; their spouses; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother; one sister; and many more cherished family and friends. Burial at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley, MI. A memorial service is being planned for a later time.
