Although I was not included in the obituary as being part of Don’s family, I was raised by him when he was married to my mother. So, for the most part, he was “Dad” to me. I am proud to have known him in the short time he was a part of our lives. I’m glad he met someone like Judy who made him happy and was able to live out the rest of his life in relative happiness. I was fortunate enough to get to see him again about a year or so before he passed and it was very emotional for me, although I didn’t express it at the time. I was just happy that he was glad to see me. I deeply appreciate everything he ever did for us while he was with our family and he’ll never know how much he added to our lives. He was a good man, not soon to be forgotten.
