Debra Y. Ace's Obituary
Debra Y. Ace (Starkes) entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 26th, 2025.
Debra was preceded in death by mother, Verna M. Starkes and Father Samuel E. Starkes, mother-in-law Bertha R. Ace and father-in-law George N. Ace, as well as son-in-law Donald Langdon.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52-years, Ivan H. Ace; brothers, Samuel E. Starkes, Alonzo S. Starkes, and Thomas P. Starkes; daughter, Veronica S. Langdon; granddaughters, Melissa Miller with great-grandsons Wesley Miller and Emmitt Miller, and Kristina Langdon; and daughter, Samantha Perry with granddaughter Brianna Perry and great-grandsons.
Debra, known to almost all who knew her as “Nan,” loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She enjoyed the little things in life, like sitting on the porch, watching birds and counting peanuts for the squirrels with her great-grandson, Wesley. Throughout the last 20-years of her life, she was an avid softball fan, following both of her granddaughters throughout their careers. Just a couple of weeks prior to her passing, Debra was able to watch her granddaughter, Kristina’s, first collegiate home run
.
Debra and husband Ivan had a long, happy, eventful marriage of 52-years, over which they were able to accompany each other to visit all 50 states.
“Nan” touched the life of anyone who was blessed enough to cross paths with her. After a long, hard, battle with cancer, she was called home on April 26, 2025. To say she will be deeply missed by all is an understatement. The world lost a beautiful soul, and heaven gained a precious angel.
The family will be holding a service at a later time.
