Cinda Ellen (Hutson) Hoyt's Obituary
Cinda Ellen (Hutson) Hoyt, 80, resident of Continental Country Club of Wildwood, FL and formerly of Parker City, IN, regrettably passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in the early morning due to cardiac arrest.
Cinda went by many names; to her late husband she was “My Lovely Bride”, to her children she was “Mom”, to her grandchildren she was “Mamaw”, and to all others she was a friend.
The Lovely Bride has reunited with The Love of Her Life.
Cinda was most well known for being a mother and a phenomenal cook. The one thing Cinda wanted in life was to be a mother and without a doubt she was the BEST at it. She was known to everyone simply as MamaHoyt. She not only raised her own five children, but became the town mom, babysitting many in her lifetime. The Hoyt home welcomed all and her kitchen was always open. If you were hungry, she fed you and you enjoyed it so much you came back.
Cinda was an amazing and extremely talented woman. She would be your best friend, secret keeper, therapist, cook/baker, and seamstress. She enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, gardening, playing card games – specifically bridge (though never bidding the slam!) and super samba – as well as bowling. She was an avid reader, so much so she even read the movies she was watching. She had an angelic voice, singing in both her church choir at First Christian Church and the Continental Singers.
Cinda’s favorite pastime was watching sports, especially her children and grandchildren. She was their biggest cheerleader! She loved to watch the Colts and college basketball, rooting for IU and whomever was playing Purdue (unless Purdue was the only Indiana team left in the tournament).
She worked as cook at A&B café, Slater Hawkins Bar, and Parker diner. She arranged flowers at Flowers by Francis and was a gardener at Ashton nursery. However, her favorite job was assistant cake artist at Lydia’s Cakes and Confections in Maple Valley Washington.
Cinda was married to the love of her life, Alfred A. Hoyt, for 54 years until his passing in 2017. They were blessed with 5 loving children and 8 wonderful grandchildren, Bradley Merle Hoyt [daughter Jessica], Dane Alan Hoyt [wife Rachelle and son Kristopher], Erin Elizabeth (Hoyt) Lahr [daughters Teagan King, Delaney Addison, and Zoya Lahr], Hilary Jay (Hoyt) Slick [husband Brian, son Steffan, daughter Alexandra (Allee)], Lydia Ann (Hoyt) Extein [husband Ron, son Hoyt], and one very special niece, Gaylynn Mercer [husband Shannon].
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred A. Hoyt, her only sister, Netta Kay Flannery, and her parents Doris and Howard Hutson.
If you knew her, know that you were Loved!
There will be no funeral, but a celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, you can donate in her honor to her church choir First Christian Church at 6900 Warm Springs Ave, PO Box 517, Wildwood FL 34785 or to Continental Singers at 506 Forest Blvd, Wildwood, FL 34785.
