Chilton N. Hurst's Obituary
Chilton N. Hurst age 89 passed away Friday morning, November 18, 2011 at a care center in Leesburg, Florida. Zolfo Springs, Florida. He retired from the U. S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 after 20 years of service. He served during WW II and Korea and was a recipient of the Silver Star Medal. After he retired from his military career he went on to become an Educator for over 20 years and retired as the Principal of the Heard Mixon Elementary School in Newton County, Georgia. He was Alumni of the University of Alabama and an avid fan of Bear Bryant. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years – Norma; 2 Daughters – Dreama Michael – of Leesburg; and Candy (Don) Goodhart – of Leesburg; 4 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren.The family will receive friends on Monday November 21, 2011 from 12:00-2:00 P. M. (Service Time) at The Father’s House Christian Church – 2301 South Street, Leesburg, FL 34748. The Service will follow immediately at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Terry Mahan serving as Officiant. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
