Charles Boniford Odom's Obituary
Charles Boniford Odom, age 78 passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Leesburg, Florida. He was born in Chipley, Florida and moved to the Howey-in-the Hills area in 2003 from Panama City, Florida. He was retired from the trucking industry where he was an owner and operator for over 40 years. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Air Force.. Charles was a strong willed person who loved to have fun and always with a chuckle was known to cause humorous trouble with his family and friends. He is described by those closest to him as a good hardworking man, who never met a stranger. He was happiest spending time outdoors, working the land with his hands, gardening, and raising with farm animals. Most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his grand and great grandchildren. He was a person who truly relished the “Simple Pleasures” life has to offer. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Emily; a son Chuck Odom of Lake Mary; 3 daughters Janet (Ron) Greene of Houston, TX; Carol Taylor of Panama City; and Debbie (Jason) Smith of Howey-in-the-Hills; a brother Ezra Odom of Palatka, FL; 2 sisters Katherine Suggs of Panama City and Ernestine Gavin of Cord, AK; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating Charles’ life is planned for 1:00 P. M. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, Florida. Inurnment Services with Military Honors are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday May 26, 2015at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
