Charles Edgar Rudd Jr's Obituary
Charles Edgar Rudd, Jr., 89, of Leesburg passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012. Mr. Rudd was born February 11, 1922 in Lexington, Ky. and moved to Leesburg in 1986 from Orange County. Charles was a lifelong Christian involved in the Baptist Church. He did mission work both in the U.S. and foreign countries. He had moved to Florida with his wife, Savanna in 1946 after serving in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He retired from the Orlando Utilities Commission in 1983 after 33 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg. After the passing of his wife Savanna in 2000 he remarried in 2002 to Jackie Hicks. Survivors include his wife, Jackie Hicks Rudd; son, David (Jo Ann) Rudd of Yalaha; daughter, Sara Lu (Greg) Hooper of Cabot, Arkansas; sister, Mildred Newton of Milton along with 2 grandsons, Ben and Brandon Hooper both of Cabot, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by a third grandson, Brady Hooper. A memorial service will be held 11:00am, Friday, February 3, 2012 in the chapel of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg’s.
