Charles Joseph Caggiano's Obituary
Charles Joseph Caggiano passed away peacefully on December 17, 2022 at his home in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL with his children at his bedside.
He was known to his friends and family as “Chuck” or “Charlie” since he began his life on November 16, 1953 in Buffalo, NY, born to Rose and Joseph Caggiano. He is survived by his siblings Vincent Caggiano (brother) and Camille Caggiano (younger sister) and their families, along with his three children and their spouses: Ruby Caggiano-Cooper and Ken Cooper, Charlie and Page Caggiano, Anthony and Caitlin Caggiano. He adored his seven grandkids: Jack and Olivia (Ruby’s children), Tayloe, Vincent and Caroline (Charlie & Page’s children) and Julia and Lucca (Tony and Cait’s children).
Although he was on earth for only 69 years, Charlie knew how to live. He was the very definition of a strong, trustworthy, reliable man who showed his love and caring through deeds, not words. He built his career in the construction industry where, for decades, he poured concrete and built countless gas stations and commercial sites.
Charlie was an excellent cook, cherishing the moments he got to stand behind a stove and share countless recipes with his family and his friends. From sauce and meatballs, to collard greens, to chicken wings, there wasn’t a dish he didn’t master and eagerly serve to those he loved.
Later in his life, he learned golf and loved his time hitting the course with his golf buddies and his sons. However, his lifetime passion was riding. As his children gathered around his bed in those last moments, they told him to get on his bike “and ride.”
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 15th at the home of his friends and longtime neighbors the Allen’s, from 1pm-4pmEST. Their home address is: 23131 Thomas Allen Rd, Howey-in-the-Hills, FL 34737.
Lastly, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Charlie held this charity very close to his heart.
