Cecil Jo-Ann Whaley's Obituary
Cecil Jo-Ann Whaley, 88, of Leesburg, Florida passed away on January 9, 2025 at her home. She was born on April 11, 1932 in Saint Augustine, Florida. She was the loving wife of William V. Whaley Jr. and they shared their life in marriage for over 70 years. They met and were high school sweethearts at nearby Ocala High School. Her husband William served over 30 years in the National Guard and she supported him during his military service. She was a loving mother to her three children Brad, Brian, and Laurie. She was a caring mother who always carried a smile and was super positive and supportive of her children and family. She was very faith based and raised her children in a Christian home. She instilled in them the importance of faith and church and attending on Sundays was a must. She was always loving and kind to all and was a wonderful Grandma to her six grandchildren and ten great grand children. Family was of utmost importance to her and she especially loved celebrating holidays and birthdays with everyone. She was a great cook and always strived to keep all of the recipes that she found over the years. She loved seeing the world and spending time at the beach collecting shells, sightseeing in the mountains, and traveling on different cruise destinations, and taking pictures and photography. She also loved trying out and eating at different restaurants. She always had a infectious smile that would give everyone such comfort and encouragement. Everyone was so very blessed to have her as a part of their lives and she will be with us always!
