Catherine M. Reithel's Obituary
Catherine M. Reithel, 94, of Fruitland Park, Fl., passed away peacefully at her home, on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
Catherine was born in Livingston, NJ. She enjoyed her childhood in Newark, NJ and then moved to Lake Hiawatha, NJ. She graduated from Boonton High School, in Boonton, NJ.
She worked at the Tung-Sol plant in Newark, NJ for many years, and moved to Leesburg, Florida in 1970 with her daughter.
She was an administrative assistant for Lake County Cablevision (now Comcast – Xfinity) and retired after 25 years.
In her retirement, Catherine and Bill stayed busy, attending every school or sporting event their grandsons were involved with, maintaining their rental properties, traveling with family and friends, playing bingo at the Fruitland Park Social Center twice a month, and going to Silver Sneakers classes twice a week.
She is survived by her husband of almost 44 years, William J. Reithel, of Fruitland Park, Fl., her daughter, Lisa (Ritter) Carnes, of Lady Lake, Fl., her 2 grandsons, Kenneth L. Carnes, III, (KC & Rayna) of Wildwood, FL, and Matthew J. Carnes, (Rachel) of Inverness, FL, and her brother, Joseph J. Tremmel, Jr, of Sparta, NJ.
The family will receive visitors Friday, April 17th, from 5-7pm at Page-Theus Funeral Home in Leesburg, Fl. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 18th, at 11am at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, Fl.
Catherine was loved by all who knew her, with her sweet smile and friendly laugh, and she will be missed and loved always.
