Carl Wesley Tiner "Corky"'s Obituary
Carl Wesley Tiner "Corky", 71, passed away on November 19, 2023. Corky was born on June 12, 1952, in Sinton, TX, to his loving parents; Sidney and Patsy (Underwood) Tiner. His parents nicknamed him Corky because he was their only dark-haired baby and a “corker”. He tended to worry about things, too, throughout his life so the name fit.
Corky settled in Florida in 2017 after relocating from Virginia. He worked for 30 years in food management and 10 years in a variety of sales positions before his retirement in 2012. Corky loved fishing, football, golf, and his wonderful family. He enjoyed wrestling and playing football in high school and his time at the University of Delaware on the college football team. He followed the Washington Commanders, formerly Redskins, closely as a devoted fan. There were many football rivalries within the family. Corky was an avid reader and enjoyed his daily crossword puzzles. He had a very close relationship with his siblings and will be missed and remembered fondly for his great sense of humor. Corky is survived by his siblings, Michael and his wife Viola, Katherine and her husband James, and Debra and her husband Tom as well as Rob, Alex and Nate. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews and great great nephews. Carl is preceded in death by his parents and two nephews, Ryan, and Jesse.
