Carl Joseph Spraw's Obituary
Carl Joseph Spraw, 98, of Tavares, FL, began his Heavenly journey on April 4, 2025. Carl was born on June 29, 1926 in Clyde, OH to his parents, Lester and Ruth (Joseph) Spraw.
Carl has been a resident of Florida since 1993 and often attended service at Tavares Community Church with his loving wife, Virginia. Carl was also a proud veteran of the United States Army during World War II with the Corps of Engineers. Carl took the Honor Flight in 2015 for his service to his country. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, he enjoyed reading and painting stained glass windows. Carl played golf, softball and especially loved tennis, he played for many years and won numerous medals, even a gold medal for players over the age of 90.
Carl was very active in his community and known for his great speaking voice. He was a liturgist at his church and sang in the Highland Lakes Musicale Chorus for many years. Carl also enjoyed cooking for the Saturday morning breakfast at Highland Lakes.
Carl will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by his family and many friends in his community.
Carl is predeceased by his first wife Elaine, who passed in May of 1984, his parents, a brother, three sisters and a stepson, Dave.
Carl is survived by his wife of 39 years, Virginia, his children; David (Charmaine), Sharon and Tim (Ryanne), Stepchildren; John (Linda) and Roberta (Bob), five grandchildren, several loving great grandchildren and one precious great great grandchild.
