Carl Leonard Czuchaj's Obituary
Carl Leonard Czuchaj, of Gotha Florida, passed away March 8, 2018 at Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, Florida surrounded by his girlfriend and daughter. Carl was born in Hamtramck, Michigan on May12, 1944, Son of the late Frances (Egroff) Czuchaj and late Leonard Anthony Czuchaj. Carl grew up in Royal Oak Michigan and joined the Air Force in 1965; he was a Jet Engine Mechanic and was proud to be a Veteran. Carl received an Honorable Discharge in April of 1968. His Daughter, Ann Marie Czuchaj (Bishop) was born in December of 1968. Throughout his life Carl has had many interesting occupations ranging from Automobile Car lot owner for most of his life, Concert Promoter for such groups as America, “House Flipper” before anyone knew what that was, Radio Station Owner and Entrepreneur. He once refurbished an old theatre in Downtown Detroit. He was also known to unselfishly help his friends with their endeavors such as construction. His hobbies included being a Private airplane pilot, helicopter pilot, and boating, sailing, cruising, spending time with his friends and family and traveling (Guyana, Bahamas, Alaska) - all over the world. He had a unique talent that enabled him to talk to strangers that in turn, soon became friends. Carl knew no strangers and made friends with everyone he met; he was always smiling. He is survived by his longtime girlfriend Bonnie Karp, his daughter Ann Marie (Brian) Czuchaj Bishop, his brother Ronald Anthony Czuchaj, his Sister Joyce Ann Taavola, his niece Christy Birchfield, his niece Christy (Johnson) Sterner and his only Grandson Shane Ethan Bishop, age 14. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Florida Hospital Waterman where Carl spent his last nine days comfortably. A Celebration of Life open house is scheduled for April 7th from 4Pm to 7Pm at Frank’s Place (Bar & Grill) in Ocoee, FL. Address: 146 Clarke Rd. Ocoee, FL 34761. Friends and family are welcome, please join us.
Final arrangements for Carl will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida which is the cemetery for Veterans. The date will be Friday, April 20, 2018 at 12:30 pm sharp.
