Boyd Emerson Kerbyson's Obituary
Boyd Emerson Kerbyson, 85, of Leesburg, FL, passed away on March 5, 2024. Boyd was born in Deckerville, MI, on February 19, 1939, to his loving parents; Grant and Thressa (McNabb) Kerbyson. Boyd moved from Michigan to Florida in 2004 with the love of his life Betty Lou. Their love story officially started when the two wed on November 4, 1966, and would spend 57 glorious years together. Boyd proudly served in the United States Army, after serving in the Army he returned to Detroit, MI to work as a steel mill foreman. Boyd was a proud member of the VFW and a member of the Lake County Ostomy Association. Boyd enjoyed spending his free time watching Western movies, especially Yellowstone. If he was not enjoying a western movie Boyd could be found working on his golf cart. A hobby that Boyd shared with Betty Lou is their love for travel. They would travel to Michigan to camp; however, Boyd was sure to let Betty Lou know that his time of sleeping on the ground was over. His happy and joking demeanor could be seen when playing board games or cards. Boyd will be remembered for his sweet tooth, especially his love for chocolate chip cookies and a dapper appearance. While he may have been a man of few words they would be words of wisdom that were always impactful. Boyd is survived by his loving wife, Betty Lou, two children Boyd R. Kerbyson (Todd Schoen) and Kathleen Hyde (William Jr.), loving sisters Janet Ebner (Gary), Joann Fulayter and loving in-laws Ralph (Nanette) Levitt, Jack (Sue) Levitt, Patricia Kerbyson, and Aunt Cathy Ehardt.
