Beulah Jane Barnett's Obituary
Beulah Jane Barnett passed away on April 8, 2012 at the age of 87. She was born on March 11, 1925 in Queen, PA to the late Frederick and Celestia Corle. Beulah and her husband moved to Leesburg in 1954 from Roaring Springs, PA and together they started Barnett Tire Service. She was a very busy woman through-out her life. She was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church, where she was very active, teaching bible school and many other activities. Beulah was quite a bowler, belonging to the Kitchen Klatter’s Bowling League, and later the Lakers Bowling League, and the woman’s club. She was also quite a fisherwoman. She loved to catch fish, and usually caught the biggest one. Beulah also loved to play bridge, and in her later years also enjoyed bingo and playing UNO. Together the family enjoyed camping, and Beulah loved to be outdoors, or just travelling to new places. She was an excellent baker, and was known for her pies and her cookies. Beulah was also known as one of the luckiest people, she would always win raffles, drawings, and bingo. In 2008 she lost her loving husband of 65 years David ‘Bill’ Barnett, and she was preceded in death by her parents and one son Ernest Ellsworth Barnett II. She is survived by one son Dr. David W. (Carolyn) Barnett of Billings, MT, one daughter; Barbara Jane (James) Brown of Vero Beach, FL, one daughter-in-law Jan Barnett of Leesburg, 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchidren. Funeral services for Mrs. Barnett will be held on Thursday, Apr. 12th. at 11:00 a.m. in the Page-Theus Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. McCoy Gibbs officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
