Barbara Elaine Stratton's Obituary
Barbara Elaine Stratton age 81, of Leesburg Florida., formerly of West Liberty, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at Cornerstone Hospice in Leesburg.
There will be no funeral services, gravesite services are pending. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial, Leesburg Florida. Online condolences may be shared with the family at hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com.
Barb was born on Dec. 12, 1942, in Iowa City, Iowa to parents Ernie and Betty Petersen. After graduating from West Liberty High School, Barb’s early years were making high quality oral care products for the Owens-Brush Company in Iowa City for over 25 years. Later, she married Lyndon Stratton, together they moved from West Liberty to Toledo Ohio where she & Lyndon took residence. Their 2nd retirement led them to Florida.
She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in West Liberty, and enjoyed bowling, auto racing, an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan & of course, playing bingo and spending time with her cats.
Barb is survived by a son, Mike Petersen (KC) of Leesburg Florida & her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Erin (Jeremy) of Riverside, Iowa and Max (Jess) of Greensboro, North Carolina, brothers Bob (Sandy) Petersen of Atalissa, Iowa and Jim (Faye) Petersen of West Liberty, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lyndon.
