Barbara Y. Schwind's Obituary
Barbara Yowell Schwind, 92, of Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on March 22, 2025. Barbara was born on November 16, 1932 in Orlando, FL, to her loving parents; Newton Pendelton and Corinne (Davis) Yowell.
Barbara was a Florida native and of the Baptist faith. She attended church at First Baptist of Leesburg. She was a woman of adventure and often took her family hiking, river rafting and snorkeling around the world. Barbara enjoyed traveling and even flew small planes as she was a licensed pilot. Aside from her love of traveling she was known as Nana to many. Barbara had a heart of gold and always to care of others. As said by her family "she took in the unwashed and unwanted." Barbara always made sure those around her in need were fed and loved. She will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by her family and community.
Barbara is survived by her children; Susan (Bill), Mike (Tabitha) and Joe, as well as stepchildren; Gretchen, Billy, Anne and Kate, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a cousin; Paula Whalen.
Barbara is preceded in passing by her beloved husband of over 20 years, William S. Schwind, who passed in 1981.
