Arthur Lee Moyer's Obituary
Arthur Lee Moyer 90, passed away late Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in The Villages, Florida. He was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan and moved to the Leesburg, Florida area over 30 years ago from Pine Island, Florida. He was a World War II Army Air Corps. Veteran and Piloted B-17 bombers on many dangerous missions during which he twice had to bail out of the aircraft before they crashed. After the war he went on to own and operate a Ford car dealership in Berrien Springs, Michigan with his father, and eventually became the Road Commissioner for St. Joseph County, Michigan, a post he held until he retired. He will be remembered by those closest to him for his generous heart and thoughtful manner as he interacted with his friends and family. He had a great love of the outdoors and loved spending time working in his flower beds, and fishing. He also enjoyed woodcraft projects and puzzles, but his passion was GOLF! He is survived by his wife of 15 years Sylvia, daughters – Kathy Sybert of Portage, Michigan; and Cindy (Robert) Dixon of Osceola, Indiana, and numerous Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. There will be a memorial service celebrating his life at the Pennbroke Fairways Activity Building, 10:00 A. M. – Saturday, December 13, 2014. His urn will be interred at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph, Michigan with military honors.
