Arthur Samuel Gurdo Sr's Obituary
Arthur S Gurdo Sr, 79 years young went home to be with the Lord on March 16, 2013 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Arthur enjoyed a loving marriage of 58 years with the former Maxene Philipson. Art and Max were joined in marriage on December 30, 1954.
From that loving incredible union they had four great children; Lorraine (Lori) and her fiance, Steven, Arthur Jr and his wife Wanda, Lisa Lee and her husband Gary and Patricia (Patty) Terenzetti and her husband Terry. 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren enriched his life.
Besides his loving wife Max, he is survived by his sister Kathleen and her husband Joseph Tomaselli. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Elizabeth Gurdo and brother and sister-in-law Tony and Betty Gurdo.
He was a Korean War Veteran who was very proud of service to his country.
He was also a 35 year member and former president of IBEW Local 181 Electrical Union. Honesty was Art's middle name, setting an example for his children and grandchildren.
Art and Max enjoyed many trips to Florida where he played golf, cards and pool with his friends, along with sharing his love for singing on Karioki night.
He enjoyed his second home on Kayuta Lake along with piloting his boat for friends. He also enjoyed tinkering in his workshop, creating many surprises for his family,
Art will be sorely missed by his family and friends but did it his way.
A celebration of life service for Art will be held in Leesburg Florida on March 20 at 2 pm in the Bonfire Village clubhouse and another service at a later date will be held in Whitesboro New York.
"Max will you just be quiet and let me do it my way."
