Alfredo 'Fred' Joseph Recchia's Obituary
Alfredo ‘Fred’ Recchia Jr. passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2104 at the age of 86. He was born on February 8, 1927 in Boston, MA to the late Alfredo and Tobia Recchia. Fred served his country in the U. S. Coast Guard. He moved to the Leesburg area from New England 18 years ago, and made his home in The Plantation. Fred was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, and the Plantation’s Italian American Club. He enjoyed travelling, and baseball, especially the Red Sox. He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa Recchia of Leesburg, along with his sons; Alfred J. Recchia III (Stephanie)of Los Vegas, NV, Gary Recchia of Nahant, MA, and John (Deanne) Recchia of West Townsend, MA, daughters; Diane Recchia of E. Boston, MA, and Joan Recchia of Saugus, MA. Fred is also survived by four grandchildren: Jillian, Philip, Julia and Sarah, and two brothers; Alphonso and John Recchia. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Paul’s Catholic Church on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
