Alexa Nicole Donkin's Obituary
Alexa (Lexi) Nicole Donkin (18) was unexpectedly taken from her loving family on July 14, 2015 by TTP, a very rare genetic disease. A 2015 graduate of Lawton Chiles High School in Tallahassee, she was preparing to embark on her next academic adventure in the fall. Alexa had a creative mind and a wonderful eye for detail and composition. At Chiles High School she excelled at photography on the year book staff for 3 years. This creativity carried over to her avocation and hobby of character makeup for Anime and Comic Con. Her work was appreciated by professionals in the field of makeup artistry that she met at the various conventions and most recently lead to offers to work professionally. Alexa enjoyed pursuits ranging from skiing, boating and intense Roller Coasters, to fashion and design. She had a great love of animals, especially her cats Nubby and Bubby. Alexa was always empathic to the less fortunate and concerned for those with distress in their lives. Alexa is survived by her parents Ian and Victoria Donkin of Tallahassee, FL, her Grand Mother, Mary Ann Schaller of Leesburg, FL, and aunts and uncles: Paddy and Joe Faucher, Casselberry, FL, Susan and Edward Bradford, Matthews, NC, Jonathan and Candace Donkin, Loxahatchee, FL, Andrew and Tracy Donkin, Big Fork, MT, Matthew and Darlene Donkin, Cary, NC, John Schaller, Fruitland Park, FL, Patricia and Richard Stanton, Weirsdale, FL, Pamela and Wayne Wright, St Cloud, FL, and many cousins. On Saturday July 18th, there will be a viewing from 6 to 8 pm at the Page Theus Funeral Home in Leesburg, FL. On Sunday July 19th there will be a service at 1pm, at the St James Episcopal Church in Leesburg, FL. Alexa asks that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to your local animal shelter or the Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura Foundation (TTP).
