Violet Edna Masterman

Violet Edna Masterman passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the wonderful age of 96. She was born on December 29, 1915 in Bremen, IN to the late Chester and Dora Foeckler. Violet had lived most of her life in Walkerton, IN but moved to Florida to be with family several years ago, and most recently made her home in Leesburg for the past three years. During her life in Walkerton she was very active in the business woman’s association, and the Walkerton United Methodist Church. She has always had a passion for games, board games, and card games. Two of her favorites were Bunko and Euchre. Violet truly loved life, and lived it non-stop. In 1987 Violet was preceded in death by her loving husband Harry. They would have celebrated 75 years together this month. She is survived by one daughter; Janice (Fred) Shultz of Leesburg, FL, two sons; Richard (Connie) Masterman of Avon Park, Fl, and Rex (Debbie) Masterman of Leesburg, FL, Violet is also survived by nine grandchildren; Mark Shultz, Laura Millikan, Chris Shultz, Stacy Dodson, Terry Masterman, Tammi Robinson, Brett Masterman, Shane Masterman and Jennifer Toone, and sixteen great-grandchildren, with two more on the way. Violet will also be missed by her entire Downtown Leesburg Business Community, where she was a mother to us all. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. in the Page-Theus Funeral Home.
