Thomas Warren Shufelt

Thomas Warren Shufelt, 69, Leesburg, Florida passed away on May 26, 2022 at UF Healthcare, Leesburg, Florida surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born on October 2, 1952 in Lockport, New York to his parents Leigh Shufelt and Marjorie (Graham) Shufelt. He was retired from General Motors with over 32 years of service in the Assembly Division in Lockport, New York and then transferring to their Tuscaloosa Assembly Plant in Alabama where he retired after many years of dedicated service. Thomas was of the Catholic faith and a Member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Leesburg as well as a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #4273 in Okahumpka, Florida. He was also a member of The Fraternal Order of Elks Lodge #497 in Pensacola Beach, Florida. He and his loving wife, Sue, originally moved from Lockport, New York to Tuscaloosa, Alabama where they lived for ten years. They then moved to Gulf Breeze, Florida for 13 years and then to Leesburg, Florida where they have lived for the past 7 years. He was very proud of his personal collection of G.I. Joe action figures and assorted accessories from the 1960’s, which are to be shared with his loving grandsons. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 49 years: Sue Shufelt of Leesburg, FL; a son: Joshua Shufelt and his wife Lesley of Summerfield, FL; a daughter: Heather Robertson and her husband Jerry of Springville, AL; two sisters: Mary Shufelt of Elyria, OH and Karen Shufelt of Elyria, OH; two loving grandsons: Warren Dean Robertson of Springville, AL and Jack Thomas Shufelt of Summerfield, FL and many loving nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and a beloved brother, Carl.
