Sheila Drucker Levinson – our FriendSheila was a professional “friendâ€Â.She was everyone’s caring and non-judgmental “friendâ€Â.Sheila defined unpretentious caring. From our formative days at Kinloch Junior High and continuing throughout her life, to her most recent days as a victim of one of these unique relentless cancers, Sheila personified one powerful trait – “youâ€Â.Sheila made every conversation about “youâ€Â. When she met others, she was always there with undivided attention on them – not her, but “youâ€Â. This knack for outward focus led all of us to take comfort from her rather than compete with her for a common focus. What a pleasure to be in her presence! Sheila celebrated others.Like a friend who glows with reflective pride or a sister who reaches out to provide comfort to meet her siblings’ needs… Sheila was there. We were all so impressed with Shelia’s devotion – For one recent example, when Beverly was incapacitated, we were all there… in spirit. Sheila was there. She made sure that she was there! We’ve lost a special sister, and we miss her already.Earl Sedlik, classmate since 1954PS – What a joy for me to learn that she shared her life with Barry Levinson. In the late fifties, all young Jewish athletes looked to Sandy Koufax for inspiration. Yet, in Miami, all we needed to do was marvel at this contemporary Miami Beach High School multi-sport all-star. That Barry Levinson found our Sheila meant that the best we could offer from Kinloch found a match for the best that we could hope to be. What a blessing for us all. We took pride in knowing that Barry & Sheila found a partner in each other.Sheila proved to be a blessing to all who knew her.~ EARL SEDLIK, SEATTLE, Washington##imported-begin##Earl Sedlik##imported-end##
