Segundo Lizardo
October 20, 1945 - February 16, 2022
Segundo Lizardo was born in Moca, Dominican Republic to his parents, Rafael and Josefa, on October 20th, 1945. He met his future wife at the age of 15, and married at 18. Shortly before, Segundo became a police officer, servicing the country for many years before completely giving his life to Christ. In Villa Faro, Santo Domingo, as the first elder, he helped raise the dying church in the village. At the age of 34, his family immigrated to Holland, Michigan to be with his sisters and in search for the American dream. In Holland he and his wife, with the help of a dear friend, founded the Holland Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church. Following his sisters once more, him and his family moved to Florida, where with much hard work and God's blessing, were able to open their own Assisted Living Facility. As a Seventh-day Adventist, Segundo was extremely active in the church and determined to help raise a Spanish group in Leesburg, where one did not exist. His hobbies were minimal because his life was completely devoted to the Lord and in His works, but he occasionally enjoyed a good baseball game and reading the newspaper. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Estela; his children, Cecilia and Rafael (Tony); his only sibling left, Norma, along with 3 grandchildren, Jonathan, Aleatha, and Michael; and 3 great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Aiden, Isabela.
