Mr. Ronald Dean DeGroat

Ronald “Dean” DeGroat age 54 passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Orlando Regional Medical Center after an acute illness. Dean was born in New York, NY and moved to the Orlando area last month from Techumseh, Michigan. He was an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor with National Airlines and worked around the country in the industry for over 30 years. He received his certification in Aircraft Maintenance from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. In his younger days he loved to surf and spend time at the beach, but in later years he loved to ride his Harley Dyna Glide every chance he got. He will be remembered by those who knew him best as person who had a deep love for his family, and someone who would gladly give the shirt off his back to a person in need. He is survived by his 3 children – Christopher (Suzanne) DeGroat of Oak Harbor, Washington; Stefanie (Cody) Hept of Phenix City, Alabama; and Michael DeGroat of Vero Beach, Florida. Brother – Donald DeGroat of Port St. Lucie, Florida; Sister- Kathryn DeGroat – Vero Beach, Florida; and 3 Grandchildren – Elizabeth; Alexander, and Lilian. A Celebration of Dean’s Life is planned for 2:00 P. M. - Monday – April 29, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Vero Beach with Pastor Derrick West serving as Officiant. The family suggests that Memorial Contributions be made in Dean's memory to: St. Jude's Children's Hospital - 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 Arrangements are under the careful direction of Page-Theus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Leesburg, Florida.
