Richard H. Tennyson passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the age of 88. He was born on October 11, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN to the late Peter and Hilda Tennyson. Richard served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He attended St. Mary’s College in Winona, MN for his undergraduate work, and received his PhD as a Chemist from University of Illinois, and retired as the VP of Quality Assurance from Bristol Myers/Squib. Over 20 years ago he moved to the Lake County area where he attended services at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, and enjoy golf, music and photography. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sylvia Tennyson, five sons; Peter (Mary Eileen) Tennyson of Newport Beach, CA, Michael (Marci Little) Tennyson of Gardner, KS, Steve (Colleen) Tennyson of West Lafayette, IN, Roger (Heidi Wright) Tennyson of Hilton Head Island, SC, and Brian (Jeanne) Tennyson of Evansville, IN. and three daughters; Mary Tennyson of Olympia, WA, Sharon (Steve Coate) Tennyson of Ithaca, NY, and Jan (Jeff) Weinzapfel of Evansville, IN. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter Marti Butler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in St. Paul’s Catholic Church at 8:30 a.m. with burial to follow in Florida National Cemetery with military honors. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 in the Page-Theus Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The family has suggested memorials in Richard’s honor may be directed to St. Paul’s Catholic School.
