Stenner, Richard A. Richard A. Stenner, 93, retired owner of Stenner Hardware Store passed away Tuesday Sept. 8th at Lake Harris Nursing Center. Mr. Stenner was a WW II Navy veteran, and he moved to The Villages area in 2001 from his birthplace in Penfield, NY. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Leesburg, Florida. Mr. Stenner actively supported his community through his volunteer efforts at his church, Rotary club, American Legion, and as a former volunteer fireman. He truly loved Rotary, and he was a charter member of The Villages noon Rotary. He had over 60 years of perfect attendance. He was also an avid swimmer, lifelong New York Yankees fan, and enjoyed playing pinochle. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years - Yvonne;his son, Peter Stenner - Nokesville, VA; stepsons, Douglas Averill - Rochester, NY; John Averill - Santa Fe, NM; stepdaughters ,Elizabeth Chaney - Lady Lake, FL; Catherine Shepard - Pittsfield, NY; sisters - Nancy Sweetland - Sarasota, FL; Betty Keyel - Penfield, NY. A funeral mass of the resurrection will take place on Monday, September 14th at 8:30 AM at the St. Paul's Catholic Church in Leesburg, Fl with interment following at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Page-Theus Funeral home - Leesburg has been entrusted with all arrangements.
