Nadia Tileschuck

Nadia P. Tileschuk Mrs. Nadia “Nettie” Poznak Tileschuk, 98, of Mt Dora, FL passed away on December 4, 2020, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Poznak and Sophia Kuzelny Poznak, and older siblings, Alexander and Vera. Nadia was the devoted wife of 35 years to the late Edward Tileschuk. Survivors include son Neal Tileschuk and significant other Susan Richardson (Cohoes, NY), daughter Amy Levonius and husband Don, and grandsons Luke and David Levonius (Eustis, FL). Nadia is also survived by nieces Sonya Poznak Geisel-Hunt and Nancy Poznak Stanton and numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Born in Howe’s Cave, NY, in 1922, Nadia and her family moved to a farm in nearby Delanson. Growing up on a farm during the Great Depression helped Nadia develop the homemaking skills she was so admired for. She also helped run the family’s service station and tea room on Rt. 7. Nadia attended Delanson High School, graduating in 1939 as Salutatorian of her class. After graduation, Nadia was employed in the Accounting –Statistics Dept. of the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, NY, where she made life-long friends. During WWII, she enjoyed corresponding with the troops overseas. After the war, Nadia met her husband Ed and they married in 1949, retiring in 1952 to pursue full time homemaking. She found great joy in caring for her husband and children, gardening, sewing, cooking and baking. She also loved reading, knitting, canning, solving puzzles and bird watching. Nadia was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Schenectady for many years, along with her family. She faithfully attended church and served in the Mary Circle, one of Zion’s missionary ladies groups. She and her husband were also members of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Five years ago, Nadia moved to Florida, where she spent her remaining years enjoying her grandsons, the sunshine, and family holiday reunions.
