Melissa Ann Opanowski, age 56 of Fruitland Park, passed away at her home on April 23, 2019. Melissa was born on June 2, 1962 to James Robert and Margaret Fay (Wright) Anderson in Washington, D.C. Melissa married Richard Opanowski in 2007, and he preceded her in death in 2010. Melissa moved with her family from Texas to Florida in 1989. She was the owner/operator of her own cleaning business. She was hard working and strong for her size. She would hang sheet rock and built her own patio. Melissa was very artistic and loved to draw. Melissa dearly loved her family and friends. Melissa is survived by her son Tim Sayles, daughter Samantha De Los Santos, grandchildren, Ethan Whitaker, Michael Sayles, Evelyn Flyte, Ashley De Los Santos, great-grandchild Sally Sayles, brothers Marlin Anderson and Mitchell Anderson. Melissa is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, and grandchild Caylin Flyte.
