James H. Annen, 86, Summerfield, Florida passed away on January 20, 2020 at The Villages Regional Hospital, The Villages, Florida. James was born on March 3, 1933 in Madison, Wisconsin to his parents Herbert Annen and Geraldine (Reynolds) Annen. He was a Chemical Engineer for the Ray O Vac Corporation. While working for Ray O Vac he worked on developing the batteries for the Apollo 13 mission in which the batteries were pushed far beyond what they were originally designed to accomplish. He and his late wife Arlene moved to Summerfield in 1996 from McFarland, Wisconsin. He was a proud Veteran who had served in the U.S. Army during the Post Korean era. He was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Timothy Catholic Church, The Villages, Florida. James loved animals and was an extremely generous man with many different charities as well as anyone who requested help. He is survived by his sister: Alice Schmidt and her husband Don of North Carolina; his nephew: Jim Fraser and his wife Tammy as well as several other loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Arlene Annen. Services to be held up in Wisconsin at a later date. Online condolences may be shared by visiting www.pagetheus.com.
