Henrietta S. Waugh
February 11, 1923 - August 25, 2016
Henrietta Waugh, 93, Mount Dora, FL Born February 11, 1923, in Danville, Illinois and entered into eternal rest August 25, 2016 Henrietta’s love of her family, church and friends was her passion in life. She was a life-long member of the Church of the Nazarene and her faith in God was foremost with her family and friends following closely behind. She was very active in the women’s ministry at her church and regularly hosted Bible studies. She also volunteered at the local hospital as a “Pink Lady” and spent many hours visiting nursing homes and shut-ins. She loved nothing more than to cook for and to have her family around her whatever the occasion. While she loved to try new recipes, she had a notorious sweet tooth and love of chocolate and made many delectable desserts. She also loved to play practical jokes and her children and grandchildren were often the targets of some very clever ruses. She was witty, smart, kind and extremely loyal to her family. Henrietta was predeceased in 2011 by her husband of 69-1/2 years and she leaves behind her daughter, Judy Curtis; son and beloved daughter-in-law, Keith and Susan Waugh; three grandchildren, Ron Hancock, Kelli (Michael) Weaver, and Kris (Ariel) Waugh; four step-grandchildren, Jim Burns, Jeff (Cindy) Burns, Danny (Nikki) Burns, and David Burns; eight great-grandchildren, Olivia Waugh, Gavin Burns, Avery Weaver, Parker & Paighton Burns, Ezekiel Waugh, Conner Maines, and Zak Burns; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Berglund of Illinois, and many nieces and nephews. Hers was a life well-lived and she will be missed every day. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 10th at 2:30 P.M. at the Leesburg Church of the Nazarene. Interment at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell next to her husband will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Henrietta’s name to the Women’s Ministries of Leesburg Church of the Nazarene, 2100 Martin Luther King Blvd., Leesburg, FL.
