Donald A. Gemming
October 8, 1924 - January 6, 2015
Donald Albert Gemming, affectionately known as “Dad” or “Don”, passed away peacefully at age 90 on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Hernando-Pasco Hospice House in Dade City, Florida. Don was born in St. Louis, Missouri and eventually retired to Naples, Florida in 1990. He moved to the Leesburg area in 2005. He was a resident of the Pennbrooke Fairways community and eventually moved to the Waterman Village in Mount Dora, Florida. He had a long career in the insurance industry and eventually retired as a Senior Vice President of Marsh & McLennan Insurance Company. He proudly served his country during W. W. II in the U. S. Navy. Don will be remembered by those closest to him for his wonderful sense of humor and great love for his family. He was happiest when he was outdoors: chasing the famous little white round dimpled ball around a golf course, hunting, fishing, or being able to spend time with his family. Don was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather. He is survived by Mary who has been by his side as his loving wife for 66 years – his 4 children: Gayle, Douglas, Craig and David, their spouses; and 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Graveside services are planned for Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Mount Lebanon Cemetery in St. Ann, Missouri.
