David Earlscourt Smith

David Earlscourt Smith, 91, Leesburg, Florida passed away on March 10, 2016 at The Villages Hospice House in The Villages, Florida. Mr. Smith was born on March 5, 1925 in Maplewood, Missouri to his parents Guy Earlscourt Smith and Estella Jane (Mollar) Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired Electrical Engineer and had retired from Martin-Marietta. He originally moved to Orlando, Florida in 1956 from St. Louis, Missouri and in 1990 then moved to Leesburg, Florida. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg and was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Smith was Past Master of the Winter Park Masonic Lodge in Winter Park, Florida. He was a pilot who loved to fly and enjoyed swimming as well as teaching children how to properly use the diving board to dive into the pool safely. He is survived by his daughters: Donna (Richard) Sczykutowicz of Leesburg, FL. and Deborah (M. Wayne) Fischer of Jasper, TX; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
