Bobby Wayne Culbreth passed away on Saturday, May 25th at the age of 73. He was born on November 12, 1939 in Doerun, GA to the late John and Clara Jo Culbreth. Bobby served his country in the U.S. Army as a radio operator for the Artillery in Korea. Although Bobby was born in Georgia he made his home here in the Lake County area since he was an infant. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, and generally loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed cooking for family and friends on his BBQ. During his working years, Bobby was a welder and metal fabricator, and did a lot of work for Disney. He is survived by his loving wife of over 54 years Bessie Culbreth, one son; Samuel John (Kerry) Culbreth and one daughter; Renee’ (Melvin) Strobel all of Leesburg. He is also survived by a sister; Virginia Kay Fischer of Windermere, FL , three grandchildren; Aaron, Brittany and Anneliese, and great-grandchild; Naomi, along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Culbreth will be at the Page-Theus Funeral Home on Thursday, May 30th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Friday in the Midway Baptist Church of Leesburg, with Rev. Dr. Alan Holden officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis. Memorials in Bobby’s honor may be made to the Gideon’s Society.
